Social Media Giant Facebook joins a strategic partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on Tuesday to enable youth and entrepreneurs to be empowered with digital skills mission in India.
The signing of partnerships signed in Bhubaneswar, Odisha will enable the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to include the training of Facebook on digital marketing skills in their courses, besides the trainee will provide access to local, domestic and international markets.

This programme includes digital marketing, online security and financial training courses in regional languages with Facebook providing training to NSDC nominated people. It will provide job seekers and increase job prospects.
“We are happy to partner with the National Skill Development Corporation to help us adopt the youth of the country and empower local businesses by providing training and resources to create digital presence and beyond the proposals of traditional offline economies offer “Akhi Das, Public Policy Director, India, South and Central Asia – Facebook said in a statement.
He said, “This skilled worker and successful business is important for promoting employment and economic development in the country.”
Cooperation will enable trainees to easily access Facebook’s Jobs Tool to find job openings. They can easily search for jobs on their Facebook app or visit www.facebook.com/jobs through their mobile phones while sharing information with potential employers.
“The goal of partnership with Facebook is to take advantage of a digital opportunity, which can help in creating a marketplace for many occupations and service offerings for trained candidates under our skill ecosystem and as knowledge kiosks for knowledge sharing, “said Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister.
He also said, “With the expertise and support of Facebook, we are taking a step to utilize the vast potential of digital skills for the economic reform of the country.”
Under Skill India Mission, about one crore youth annually are being skilled, reskilled and upskilled through various central government programmes in the country.
Facebook’s previous training programme on digital marketing skills have upskilled more than 200,000 youth and entrepreneurs in 16 states under the #BoostYourBuisness programme. Under the company’s Giant #SheMeansBusiness programme, 30,000 female entrepreneurs are currently being trained, the company said. In 2017, Facebook launched Digital Training Hub, aimed to train 500,000 youths and entrepreneurs by 2020.
